Weekly Classes +

A weekly class is held on Thursday evening in Earlswood. We meet in Malthouse Lane car park, Earlswood, B94 5RZ, at 7.00pm. Allow 90 minutes for the class and park in Malthouse Lane to avoid having your car trapped in the car park. Poles are available for use during the class.

Our weekly Nordic walks in Earlswood are in a beautiful Warwickshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve; ancient woodland and lakes. Our Nordic walks are ideal for anyone, whatever your fitness level. We are a very friendly and welcoming group, the emphasis is on getting fit without even noticing you are doing so. The class runs throughout the year, and if you are wary about Nordic walking at night, don't be! Walking to the sound of tawny owls whilst chatting with friends can be quite special!

Prices: Single classes are £7.50 or enjoy six classes for the price of five when paid in advance.

Beginner Classes +

If you can walk, then you can Nordic walk! All that is needed is a sense of curiosity as to why you really do burn more calories when Nordic walking, a love of the outdoors, an enthusiasm for getting fit and losing weight without really noticing, a preference for the outdoor gym rather than the indoor treadmill, an enjoyment of exercising and losing weight whilst talking rather than exercising so that you can't talk..., and an urge to find a form of exercise that works for you rather than making you try to be something you are not.

Nordic walking is the ideal exercise if you want to lose weight, get fit, get back into exercise, or quite simply explore the great outdoors on Nordic walks guided by a mountain leader and Nordic walking instructor; the Cotswolds, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Malverns, Clent..., the world is our oyster.

Studies have also shown it to be a beneficial form of exercise for people whose health conditions may exclude them from many other forms of exercise; breast cancer, Parkinson's, back injuries..., please contact me if you would like further information on whether Nordic Walking could be beneficial for you.

Nordic walking is not rocket science but there is a lot more technique to it than just picking up the poles! Nordic Walk Now beginner classes employ the ten step method as advocated by the International Nordic Walking Federation; this guarantees the inclusion of advanced Nordic walking techniques. Only by learning the correct technique, will you be able to incorporate a full-body workout into your Nordic walk.

All classes are fun, informative and informal. Anyone of any fitness level can take part; our only requirement is that you wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Poles are provided free of charge for use during the classes. Booking is essential.

Technique Review +

Has it been a while since you learned how to Nordic walk?

Have you been so busy enjoying the company of others whilst Nordic walking that you are worried bad habits may have crept in? Would you simply enjoy a refresher where you can discuss any concerns or objectives? Join me for a technique review with video analysis.

These groups are kept deliberately small to enable a focused and personalised technique analysis.

Attendees at technique reviews should bring their own poles and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

The technique reviews are limited to a maximum of four participants. Technique analysis is assisted by a video review which is also subsequently analysed and forwarded to participants with comments. The videos will only be accessible to the instructor and participant.
