Studies have shown that exercising outdoors offers much, much more than just a burst of vitamin D. By taking your exercise regime outdoors, you will find that there are considerably more health benefits than a trip to the gym.

Researchers at Glasgow University have found that regular exercise in a natural environment helps protect the participants from mental health problems whilst exercising in non-natural environments such as gyms, has no such positive impact on our mental health.

Other studies have shown outdoor exercise can lead to a decrease in tension, confusion, anger and depression. Not that I’m biased but I would surmise that the combination of the above benefits with a total body workout makes Nordic walking the perfect form of exercise (apart from when it’s really muddy…)!
